The VASJ Golf team competed in three tournaments to start the season. That is the good news. The bad news is that they were also rained out of three tournaments. The Vikings competed in the Mapleton Simonson Invitational, the Trinity Classic and the Warren JFK Invitational.
There were many positives that came out of the first week. Several members of the golf team participated in their first 18-hole matches. including sophomore Joe Mascaro, junior Quentin Shambley, senior Thomas Ridler and freshman Matt Locsei. Tournament and match experience will be critical to the development of the underclassmen.
Senior Zac Tizzano, the Vikings’ 2 or 3 man, continues to rehab from a shoulder injury and hopes to return in a few weeks. Tizzano’s return will be a welcome addition to the rotation.
