Over 125 7th grade students from 28 middle schools in Northeast Ohio visited for VASJ’s annual 7th Grade Future Viking Day. The day began with a tour around the campus with the Student Ambassadors as well as sitting in on a high school class.
With the Ambassadors, the 7th graders were given the opportunity to get the high school experience and know what VASJ is all about. The students were then given a sneak peek of Drama Club’s Arsenic and Old Lace which debuts March 16, 17, and 18th. Afterward, the students created a craft with a photo taken in VASJ’s bookstore.
“This is the third year we’ve had Future Viking Day and each year it continues to grow,” says Admissions Coordinator, Molly Lorek. “You could feel the energy in the gym as the students were coming in in the morning. We cannot wait to have them as official Vikings in the fall of 2019.”
The event ended with lunch featuring a taco bar. Though the day was short, a lot was done.
This year’s Future Viking Day was the largest VASJ has had yet with a 40% increase compared to last year’s attendance. Though Future Viking Day has ended, all are invited to come to VASJ’s final Open House of the year will take place Wednesday, March 21 at 6pm.
