Following a year of hybrid learning and virtual events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School is proud to welcome its largest incoming freshman class since 2015.
The Viking Village welcomed 135 students from the Class of 2025 on the first day of school, bringing total school enrollment to 458. The freshmen were chosen from hundreds of applicants from 40 grade schools throughout the area.
"Last year was such an uncertain year for everyone due to the pandemic," said VASJ Director of Admissions Kellie Watrobski '03. "Having such a large incoming freshman class shows how much our families believe and trust in Catholic education."
The school's surge in enrollment is coupled with record-setting support from donors. In the spring, VASJ launched the
Keeping Our Promises Campaign, a $5.5 million initiative and the first-ever comprehensive campaign in the school's history. To date, the school has raised over $4.3 million thanks to the generous support of donors.
Watrobski said she's looking forward to getting to know all of our new and transfer families throughout the school year.
"I am so excited for the freshman class to be a part of our ever-growing Viking family," Watrobski said. "Welcome, VASJ Class of 2025!"
