Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School is excited to welcome James Duke as the school’s dean of students.
Duke spent the last three years serving as dean of students at Cleveland Central Catholic.
“I love the diversity at VASJ and the mission of the school in regards to service and creating a holistic student, especially in today's society,” Duke said. “VASJ is rich in tradition, not only in athletics but in academics in producing some of Northeast Ohio's greatest constituents. I'm excited to be here.”
Duke previously worked as a classroom teacher for the Positive Education Program in Shaker Heights. Prior to that position, he worked in Akron Public Schools. He graduated from the University of Akron in 2011.
"I’d like to thank VASJ President Tom Carone, Principal Lorenzo Jones and Dean of Academics Patti Marxen for the opportunity to work on their team," Duke added. "Our visions align in regards to what it takes to offer a top-notch Catholic education."
