Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School will once again be hosting students from St. Ursula High School in Japan. It is a great opportunity for both the students at VASJ and the the Japanese visitors.
The school will be hosting 10-15 students (we are not certain of the gender at this this time) and one chaperone and is looking to provide them with host families.
Students will arrive on Saturday, March 7, 2015, and leave for home on Monday, March 23, 2015. Host families and students will meet at VASJ for a welcome party the first evening. During the school day, students will take English conversational lessons and other classes and will be provided with lunch. VASJ will organize a sightseeing tour for them and possibly a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or the Great Lakes Science Center, plus a college visit.
The host family will provide sleeping arrangements and meals for the student (or chaperone). Since the students are coming to experience American student life, the host family is asked to include the visiting students in family activities as well as some recreational or sight-seeing opportunities. On one of their last three days, the Japanese students will host a farewell party for the host families.
Students will have their own medical insurance in case of health issues. The chaperone will be available in case there are any emergencies.
If you are interested in hosting a student (or the chaperone), please complete the form below and return to the principal by November 18, 2014. More information will be provided as the itinerary is completed.
