VASJ sets record-breaking goal during #weGiveCatholic

Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School met — and surpassed — its fundraising goal during #weGiveCatholic on Tuesday, Dec. 3. 

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, VASJ exceeded its goal of $54,500 and raised a total of $72,774 from 234 individuals, an all-time high for a #weGiveCatholic campaign at VASJ. Out of 19 large-sized schools that participated in #weGiveCatholic, VASJ placed fourth on the leaderboard.

The money raised will go toward purchasing Chromebooks for each of our five Religion classrooms. The Religion classes are currently the only rooms in the school building without access to these devices. Each Religion classroom will now be receiving 25 Chromebooks, a storage/charging cart, and educational software for students to utilize. This technology will open doors to interactive resources, collaborative projects and real-world skills that will serve our students far beyond high school.

#weGiveCatholic is Northeast Ohio’s annual online day of Catholic giving, supporting Catholic schools, parishes, ministries and nonprofits throughout the region.

We are truly blessed by the generosity of so many.”

A special thank you to our donors who graciously stepped up to be matching gift sponsors for this year’s campaign, including the Oarsmen Club, the VASJ Board of Advisors, the Villa Angela Academy Heritage Center Committee, and Ken ‘76 and Sherri Koncilja. We’d also like to extend gratitude to the St. Joseph Class of 1970, who rallied together and funded one of the five Religion classrooms.
