VASJ hosts first Christmas in the Village event

The VASJ Gymnasium was transformed into a Winter Wonderland the morning of Dec. 11 for the school’s first Christmas in the Village event. 

More than 100 adults and children gathered at the Viking Village for a breakfast buffet, Christmas craft stations, games and photos with Santa. 

“Watching our littlest Vikings have so much fun in the same gym their parents made four years’ worth of memories in was an amazing sight to see,” said Director of Alumni Relations Cheryl Stashinko ’03. "We also welcomed members of our Collinwood/Euclid community as well as our own faculty and staff. Christmas in the Village was a great way for us to open our doors and showcase the spirit of VASJ."



VASJ was proud to partner with SRW Guardian Angels Early Learning Center (GAELC), which sponsored two of the craft tables, as well as K&P Photography, an alumni-owned business that sponsored photos with Santa. Families left with sweet treats provided by Piece of Cake Bakery, a Viking family-owned business. 



"We had hoped the event would be successful enough to consider making Christmas in the Village an annual event. I think it is safe to say we'll be busy planning next year's event very soon!" Stashinko said.
