This was Tori’s first year in the drama club. She got a lead role and did amazing! Students and faculty know John Henry and how much fun he can have and he did that. He followed the script, yet he also threw in some of his own words. Whenever John would come on stage you knew that you would laugh.
“I was nervous just because my friends and family were there and I did not want to mess up,” Tori says. “Once I was out there I wasn’t nervous at all. I felt on top of the world. Like it didn’t matter if I messed up because I was untouchable. It was really fantastic!”
Off stage, Tori is the sweetest and nicest person you’ll ever meet but she was able to play a very mean and nasty Cinderella making her performance absolutely spectacular!
“I felt excited to be back on stage,” John Henry said “It is a great way to express yourself and have fun!. He is an amazing actor and he has a way to make a crowd of people laugh uncontrollably. Working with him on stage is a blast! He will always take a situation and help a newcomer understand what is going on or how to win the part. He did an amazing job as The King and we hope to see more of him in the Spring!
The Tech Crew did a fantastic job as well. The set looked beautiful! The set changes were fast and smooth. The Tech Crew did a splendid job working hard on that set. The backdrop they worked hard on. It was a painted wall to look like a brick wall with a fireplace. They reused set pieces from past performances as well. They used the trees and flowers from their performance of Wizard of Oz. Which was really well done because it showed that every little piece was used from past performances.
Senior Joseph Martin was the leader of the Tech Crew this year. He has great leadership skills and worked so hard behind the scenes in order to make sure the show ran smoothly. Joe had a few words about opening night. “There was some nervous and excited energy going around opening night. I didn’t know how well the audience was going to react, due to the play was an original piece. Also I didn’t know if someone from tech would miss their cue. Once the curtains opened and I heard the laughter from everyone. I knew that it would be a great show!”
Freshmen Amanda Yeager took hold of second in command along with Joe. As
Game of Tiaras was a fantastic piece of entertainment. Filled with laughter, sadness, and joy! Everyone in drama club did a glorious job. The Spring Musical will be announced soon!
