Members of the Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School Class of 2024 came together one last time at the school for Baccalaureate Mass the morning of May 17. Baccalaureate is a beloved annual tradition that allows our seniors to gather in prayer before graduation.
We were happy to welcome Rev. James Watson from St. Agnes Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Cleveland to serve as celebrant.
At the conclusion of Mass, Student Council officers participated in the tradition of passing the mantle. "Passing the mantle" is a phrase from the Bible that refers to the transfer of anointing from one generation to the next. Outgoing executive council president Maura Murphy passed the mantle to junior Christopher McMichael, while outgoing senior class president Michael Arcaro passed the mantle to junior Allison Hockenberry.
Seniors Esther Marshall and Carley Guy also delivered brief remarks on behalf of the Class of 2024.
Thank you to the parents, grandparents, friends, and faculty and staff who joined us for Baccalaureate Mass. Please join us in praying for our seniors as they prepare for graduation!
