May 21, 2024Family, friends, faculty and staff, and VASJ administration joined together at Ss. Robert and William Parish the evening of May 20 to celebrate the VASJ Class of 2024 during a commencement ceremony.
Ninety-seven students were part of this year’s graduating class. Fifty-six percent of the class reported receiving merit-based college scholarships, totaling nearly $8.6 million. Several students are also pursuing a trade or entering the workforce.
A special congratulations to this year’s valedictorian, Nicholas Dunmire, and salutatorian, Somto Amujiogu.
VASJ Campus Minister Erin Maher '16 welcomed guests and delivered an invocation before introducing this year's seniors speakers. Speakers included Joseph Marxen, Seneca Morton and Tiana Belcher.
Before the awarding of diplomas, members of the senior class received a number of awards to recognize their academic and personal achievements during their four years at VASJ. After a brief farewell from VASJ President Tom Carone, Maher blessed the Class of 2024, and they then proudly sang our school's alma mater as they were welcomed into the Viking alumni family.
