December 15, 2017VASJ’s Christmas Concert was once again a holiday hit.
Traditional Christmas carols and modern holiday songs performed by VASJ’s choirs filled the school’s gym on December 11, 2017.
First, VASJ’s mixed choir, which consists of all freshmen and is directed by Ms. Stephanie Hyde, performed “Jingle Bells,” “O Holy Night,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Joy to the World,” and “This Christmas.”
Up next was the Lady Vikings Choir, a new course at VASJ which is directed by Ms. Brianna Wilson. The young women performed: “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “2 Nativity Carols,” and “What a Beautiful Name.”
The concert concluded with VASJ’s Men’s Choir which is directed by Mrs. Maureen Joseph and Ms. Stephanie Hyde, performing songs: “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Mary Did You Know," and “Rudolph.”
Their rendition of ‘Rudolph’ was a medley only a Viking could love.
The VASJ Christmas Concert was a great way to spread Christmas cheer throughout the Viking Village.

Hailey Barnett is a senior at VASJ. She is the President of PR Club and a member of the National Honors Society, Ambassadors, Peer Ministry, and Catholic Schools for Peace and Justice. In her free time, she enjoys to write, sing, and explore. After graduation, Hailey plans to attend Howard University where she will major in Communications and minor in Spanish.
