Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School is pleased to announce that Shayla Lang ’11 has been named the girls volleyball head coach.
Lang comes to VASJ with nine years of coaching experience. She spent the last two seasons as head coach of girls and boys volleyball at Euclid High School.
“I am thrilled to be back in the Viking Village,” Lang said. “VASJ helped shape and mold me into the person I am today. To be able to not only represent but lead a program that means so much to me is remarkable.”
Lang was a four-year varsity player and team captain during her time at VASJ. After attending the University of Mount Union and Notre Dame College, she began her coaching career at VASJ and Force Volleyball Club in Eastlake in 2014.
“Coach Lang brings with her quality coaching experience at all levels,” said VASJ Athletic Director Jeffrey Teringo. “She is well-organized and demonstrates the ability to provide a vision for a program and make that vision a reality. She has a tremendous ability to relate to and communicate with her players and families. We’re excited to welcome Coach Lang back to the Viking Village.”
