The Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School boys and girls basketball teams were well represented on the 2014 All Northeast Lakes District teams released March 4.
Vikings junior Brian Parker was named the Division III NE Lakes District player of the year. Parker averages 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game.
Juniors Carlton Bragg and Dererk Pardon were each selected to the NE Lakes D-III first team. Bragg averages 18 points and 9 rebounds per game, and Pardon averages 12.3 points and 11 rebounds per contest.
Junior guard Simon Texidor made the third team, and point guard Mo Johnson was a special mention selection.
The VASJ girls had three members selected by the NE Lakes District panel for the Division IV team, led by first-team pick Mariah McGhee. The junior averaged 18.2 points per game while helping the Vikings advance to the Grand Valley district championship game.
Toni Beuck was a second team all-district selection, and senior point guard Brijae Journee was a special mention pick.
