Construction of our new atrium at the rear entrance of the building is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 6. The construction will continue through the end of the school year and will cause us to change our traffic patterns, parking, and how we enter and exit the school building.
Please read and follow the following guidelines:
1. The rear entrance to the school will be closed and off limits to all students and school personnel during this construction period.
2. All visitors and parents are expected to use the front entrance on Lakeshore Boulevard to enter the building at all times.
3. Students arriving at school between 7 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. who normally gather in the cafeteria will now enter at the gymnasium entrance on East 185th Street. They will proceed to the cafeteria. At 7:45 a.m., these students will be dismissed to go to class.
4. Students arriving to school after 7:45 a.m. should continue to enter the school at either the front entrance on Lakeshore Boulevard or the gymnasium entrance on East 185th Street.
5. Students who normally use the back entrance at dismissal will be directed to use the gymnasium entrance on East 185th Street.
6. Parking for students, faculty and staff will be modified as needed for construction.
7. The construction area is being cordoned off and the traffic pattern, parking areas, and drop off and pick up of students is changing. Please see this diagram that provides the new traffic pattern for drop off and pick up. You may also continue to use the entrance off of Lakeshore Boulevard as well.
We ask everyone to please be patient and courteous as we navigate through this construction period. Our intention is to provide an efficient traffic flow and ensure a safe environment for our students, faculty, staff and construction workers.
