Our dance this year will be Friday, October 18, 2019, in the gymnasium from 7-10:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. and all students must be in the gym by 7:30 p.m. Students will be allowed to leave no earlier than 10 p.m. There is no school on that date. Our theme this year is Throwback Friday. The price is $20 per student (check made out to VASJ Homecoming). Snacks and refreshments will be served at the dance.
All VASJ students and parents must sign the VASJ Homecoming Contract. All VASJ students may attend and bring one guest. The guest may be from another school but must be at least high school age. All guests will also need a VASJ Homecoming Contract signed by their parent AND a principal or school administrator. This form has been sent to all students in their school email and is also attached. The contract MUST be turned in when purchasing tickets. No tickets will be sold without a signed contract.
Tickets go on sale to SENIORS and JUNIORS ONLY on Monday, October 7 during the lunch periods. Beginning on Wednesday, October 9 tickets will go on sale to ALL STUDENTS during lunch periods. Tickets will cost $20 through Tuesday, October 15. After October 15 ticket prices increase to $30 each and can be purchased ONLY from Mrs. Marxen AFTER SCHOOL in Room 210. No exceptions.
A professional photographer will also be at the dance to take photos. A flyer with pricing is attached. Photos are an additional cost to the ticket price. Payment must be included with the order form. Orders and payment must be received by Thursday, October 17 at 12 p.m. Late orders cannot be accepted. Students may purchase photos at the dance, but the package prices will be different. Get your orders in early!
As always, we dress in good taste with Christian modesty.This is a FORMAL event, which means dress clothes and dress shoes ONLY. Students MAY NOT WEAR tennis shoes, jeans, or casual clothing. The dress code for gentlemen is shirt/tie/vest or shirt/tie. Gentlemen may choose to wear a turtleneck but this must be worn with a sports jacket, blazer, suit jacket, or sweater. No exceptions. The ladies may wear a dress, skirt and blouse, or pants suits. Dresses must be fingertip length or longer, appropriately loose (no tight clothing). Dresses cannot have cut-outs or be sheer or see-through. Students may have an open back no farther down than the natural waist. Low cut outfits that show cleavage or two-piece outfits are not acceptable. Front bodice and waist must be completely covered with material, nothing sheer. Any student not in appropriate dress will not be admitted to the dance, parents will be contacted, and no refunds will be forthcoming. Students are highly encouraged to have outfits/dresses approved prior to purchase to avoid any issues. Please plan appropriately.
