VASJ will post a daily update here about cases at the school. The site will be updated every weekday at 3 p.m.
This data is communicated in accordance with the public health order issued by Ohio’s Department of Health. As Governor DeWine’s order mandates, cases of COVID-19 must be reported to the school immediately. In turn, VASJ must notify the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and families within 24 hours of this news.
Moving forward, this will be the platform we use to communicate any new cases. All-school communications may not be sent each time we learn of a new case of COVID-19; however, this site will be updated every day.
Additionally, we will continue to follow directives from the Cuyahoga County Board of Health about contact tracing protocols and work to identify all those in close contact with the confirmed positive cases.
Now that winter weather is officially upon us, we wanted to update you on how we will be handling "snow days."
In the case of inclement weather, you will receive an “alert call," like you have in the past, stating that the building is closed and that the schedule has switched to an asynchronous day. As always we will update you with any changes to this policy.
God bless you and stay safe.
We will continue to follow the CDC, ODH and OHSAA guidelines/recommendations. The physical and mental safety of our student-athletes is our top priority.

If you are planning on playing a winter sport, make sure to turn in your updated OHSAA physical form and complete the concussion testing. The OHSAA physical must be completed and signed by a physician. Until an updated copy is on file, the student-athlete is not allowed to participate in any workout, practice, tryout, or game. Scan, send, or physically turn in the completed physicals to Mrs. Fischbach in the principal’s office or email to dfischbach@vasj.com.
All sports teams will be required to follow certain protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These protocols are in place to create the safest possible environment for the athletes and coaches. This information will be explained to student-athletes on the first day of tryouts/practice. These protocols are unique to each individual sport, team and level and are based on a variety of factors, such as:
• The dynamics of the space in which the tryout/practice is taking place.
• The number of athletes that are participating
• How the tryout/practice is structured including the types of drills that are being conducted.
To be able to participate in any athletic-related activities, all athletes must:
• Wear a mask to and from all sport-related activities. This includes when entering and exiting all facilities.
• Bring their own personal water. The amount of water should be based on the type of workout along with whether or not the workout is taking place indoors or outdoors. For example, conditioning outdoors in the heat may require the athlete to bring more water to stay hydrated.
• Arrive wearing the proper workout attire. The athlete should make sure to dress appropriately. An athlete’s gear/attire can have an impact on how he/she performs.
• Leave all valuables at home. Locker rooms will NOT be available, so all athletes must come properly dressed.
• Have their online paperwork completed in Final Forms (https://villaangela-oh.finalforms.com). NOTE: Incoming students will not be able to complete their portion. They are allowed to participate as long as parents have completed their portion. Feel free to contact the Athletic Department if you need assistance, athletics@vasj.com
We understand that we are dealing with a very unique situation, so we are prepared to accommodate students who have concerns about participating in sports at this time. If you have any questions, please contact the Athletic Department at athletics@vasj.com.
Appointments are required if you need to come in to discuss your student's account. Financial contracts and registration fees are due before school starts. Monthly tuition payments start in August, so please be sure you have completed your FACTS tuition payment account setup.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Katie Oriani in the Business Office at 216-481-8414 ext. 240 or koriani@vasj.com. Katie will try to return calls within 48 business hours; however, it may be a little longer around statement mailing dates and exclusion times.
It is our goal to resolve all issues in order for each and every student to have a positive start to the new school year.
Visitors to the building will be limited. In-person meetings between parents/guardians and school personnel will be the exception. Instead, all necessary communication will take place via email, phone calls, or virtual meetings.
All visitors should enter the building through the main doors located on the Lakeshore side of the school and proceed to the front desk. If a visitor is not immediately leaving (i.e., picking up their child), he or she will have his or her temperature checked before proceeding.
Masks are required upon entering the building. Please follow social distancing guidelines.
