On February 13, Valentine’s Day arrived a day early for nursing home residents. The Lady Vikings Choir once again went on tour to perform love songs to the elderly and others.
The Lady Vikings Choir visited and performed at Braeview, Brookdale, Highland Pointe, Hilltop Village, and the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
"They selected the repertoire, learned melodies, developed their own harmonies, and worked with one another to create an expressive, full sound for performances,” says Lady Vikings Choir Director Brianna Wilson.
Solos were performed by Candace Trivisonno and Nova Jolly.

The Lady Vikings covered songs:
I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston
You Are My Sunshine by Johnny Cash
All I Do is Dream of You by Michael Buble
No One by Alicia Keys
Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran
After their performances, the Lady Vikings would then take the time to celebrate February birthdays by singing “Happy Birthday to You” then socialize with the residents.
“These ladies have truly put their hearts into their music,” says Director Brianna Wilson. "It was amazing to see how they brought joy to the residents both through their music and their conversation.”
"I’m proud of us as a group for making our performances something to remember,” Says Nova Jolly.
The time that the Lady Vikings spent together not only strengthened their confidence in singing as a group but the relationship they have with one another.
Though Lady Vikings Choir may be small in numbers, it is grand in volume. Their voices and love were shared with many and they plan on sharing with more in the future. Their next performance will be at VASJ’s Continue the Dream event.
