Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, Villa Angela-St. Joseph High school raised more than $25,000 during #WeGiveCatholic on Dec. 1.
A total of 150 donors supported VASJ’s campaign to raise funds to renovate the courtyard and turn it into a quiet, reflective prayer space on campus for students, faculty and staff. The total amount raised was double that of the school's #WeGiveCatholic campaign in 2019.
“It is inspiring how much our community understands and appreciates the foundation of faith upon which VASJ is built,” said VASJ president Richard Osborne ’69. “This is why our students love the school and everyone who supports it.”
#WeGiveCatholic is an annual one-day giving event held on Giving Tuesday that provides Catholic schools, parishes, charities, special ministries and nonprofits affiliated with the Diocese of Cleveland the opportunity to connect with current donors and establish relationships with new ones.
Money raised will be used to renovate the courtyard by updating landscaping, adding outdoor seating, developing an outdoor learning environment for students, building a grotto for Mother Mary and even planning a small garden for community outreach.
“VASJ is a family rooted in faith, and the way we showed up for each other yesterday was a beautiful testament to exactly that,” said Brianna Wilson, director of Campus Ministry at VASJ. “Thanks to all who donated, we can say with certainty that we are extending our sacred spaces, and our students will have many more opportunities on campus because of it.”
Thank you again to everyone who supported our campaign!
