Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School was pleased to welcome Lorie Howley, co-founder and trustee of The Howley Foundation, and PJ Reindel, executive director of The Howley Foundation, to campus the morning of Sept. 22 for a special breakfast with our freshmen scholarship recipients.
Ten freshmen students received scholarships from The Howley Foundation this year. The students were selected by demonstrating a high level of academic achievement, exhibiting leadership qualities and scoring high on the VASJ Placement Test. Thirty-nine VASJ students are current Howley Scholars.
Students are able to maintain the scholarship all four years of high school as long as they maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, participate significantly in at least one extracurricular activity, maintain good standing with the school, and submit semi-annually an outline of their progress and academic accomplishments to the Howley Family Foundation.
We are so grateful to The Howley Foundation for supporting VASJ. Congratulations to all of our students who have earned this academic honor!
