VASJ students, faculty and staff gathered the morning of Dec. 8 to celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The Viking Village welcomed Rev. Patrick Anderson from Borromeo Seminary as celebrant.
Rev. Anderson’s homily focused on the concept of prevenient grace, or an undeserved gift that has a positive impact in our life and our relationship with God. He asked the students to reflect on times in their own lives when they received a gift that they didn’t know they needed until they received it.
Christmas stockings that were collected as part of the school’s annual stocking drive were presented as gifts at the altar.
Winners of VASJ’s Faces of Our Founders were also announced before the start of Mass. These students were selected by their peers for exemplifying the values of our founders, Blessed William Joseph Chaminade and St. Angela Merici.
Congratulations to the following students:
Freshman Max Gembus
Sophomore Somto Amujiogu
Junior Roland Ivy Jr.
Senior Melana Blase
