With the Christmas season approaching, VASJ’s Christian Leadership class has decided to put together care packages to donate to The City Mission in Cleveland, Ohio. The City Mission is a non-profit organization that provides shelter for the homeless. Knowing that the homeless don’t have easy and reliable access to certain items, the Christian Leadership students want to provide them with the necessities they would need for winter.
The Christian Leadership students are putting together posters, formulating announcements, and creating a slideshow to be shown at the school’s Thanksgiving Prayer Service to promote the drive.
From November 29 through December 14, VASJ students, faculty and staff, and the entire Viking community are encouraged to participate in donating socks, gloves, toothbrushes, and other winter and personal care items to give to the homeless shelter.
Each day will be dedicated to collecting a certain item based on the schedule below. If someone misses a day they can still donate on another day. Monetary donations in any amount will also be accepted. Student donations will be collected in front of the main office each day. Donations from alums and friends can be brought to the school’s main office.
The goal is to generate enough items to make over 100 care packages to be donated to homeless people in Cleveland. Any support is appreciated.
