Rhiannan Edwards ‘20 has a love for VASJ that almost rivals her love of art. So when she has opportunities to sell her art, it is an easy decision for her to give back to VASJ with the money she makes.
That is exactly what she did with a portion of her proceeds from the Willoughby Hills Fall Craft Show which took place in October.
“My school and education are what’s most important to me,” says Rhiannan. “Being a Viking has really had a positive impact on my life. This school has given me a lot and helped me through a lot so I am giving back to them by donating 10% of my proceeds from the craft show.”
Rhiannan sold handmade note cards and paintings, as well as handmade duffel bags and totes, upcycled from an old sail from her family’s sailboat.
“VASJ has also taught me to love my community and be thankful for everything I have,” Rhiannan says. “I feel as if I am achieving this goal when I donate to VASJ, especially when I worked hard for the money. I am looking forward to the craft show because art is everything to me, and this school is very important to me as well.”
