The song “Go Make a Difference” is sung at many VASJ Masses and prayer services. The lyrics say, “Go make a difference. You can make a difference. Go make a difference in the world.”
VASJ’s service program is one of the ways students learn how they can make a difference in the world.
Each year, VASJ has a Sophomore Make a Difference day in which the entire sophomore class volunteers at various nonprofit organizations.
The VASJ sophomores spent their day volunteering at St. Philip Neri Family Center, Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Cleveland Food Bank, Community Greenhouse Partners, Kiddie City Childcare, Our Lady of the Lake Youth Ministry Projects, and VASJ.
The annual tradition of placing flags on veteran graves was canceled due to the rain but students still had lunch at American Legion Post 7 and visited with the veterans there.
