After graduating from VASJ, Kellie Watrobski ’03 attended Marietta College, where she received a degree in organizational communication. After college, Kellie became a flight attendant for Continental Airlines, and then went on to become an advertising sales representative for the Plain Dealer. After spending a few years at the newspaper, Kellie got the opportunity to give back to the high school that gave her so much in four years. Kellie now enters her 11th year working at VASJ! She absolutely loves working with the community and families and helping to get students enrolled. The best part of her job is knowing that students will receive a Catholic education and grow to the best of their abilities in their four years at VASJ.
Where did you grow up while attending VASJ?
I grew up in Euclid like many other students and families that attended VASJ.
Where did you go to school before VASJ?
I was fortunate to attend St. Christine grade school before coming to VASJ. Go Crusaders!!
Which teacher or class at VASJ do you remember most and why?
There are so many! When it comes to having a blast and learning the most in their classrooms, I would have to say Gary Minadeo, Judy Vogel and Karen Bauer-Blazer. They took the time to teach and have fun in the classroom to make everyone succeed. Other ones who I can’t ever forget about, mostly because I have the pleasure of working with now, are Chris Janezic and Bill Raddell. Another teacher/administrator who was such a father figure to me was Tim Robertson. I didn’t have him as a teacher, but he was always present. He didn’t have to take the time out of his day to ask me how my family was doing or how my day was going. He was such a blessing to me and the VASJ community.
Did you have a favorite spot to hang out and what did you like about it?
I would say my favorite place to hang out was the gym. I played three sports in my time at VASJ and always had practice and always hung out there after school.
What, if anything, about your experience at VASJ would you do over?
Honestly, I wouldn’t do anything differently. I made lifelong friends, made tons of memories and received a wonderful education.
