It was one year ago this Memorial Day weekend that the Viking community came together to dedicate a monument honoring all Viking veterans and remembering six Vikings who were killed in action. By November of 2016, a seventh Viking, Richard Thomas ’57 was identified as having been killed and his plaque was added to the monument on Veterans Day.
Through continued donations, we are adding a bench, paver stones, and landscaping to the monument area.
Although there was no formal service this year, the sophomore class placed seven flags to honor our deceased Vikings at the monument.
If you are in the area, please visit the Viking Veterans Memorial to honor our veterans and the seven who made the ultimate sacrifice. The monument is located in the courtyard between the school building and the gymnasium.
