All students in the eighth grade must take the OLSAT to be considered for admission to VASJ for ninth grade. VASJ administers the OLSAT five times a year, beginning in October and ending in December. The first four tests qualify for a scholarship. Transfer students do not take an Entrance Exam. Entrance Exam Scholarship awards will be mailed between December 16 and December 27
Parents are encouraged to attend a brief information session after the start of the exams. The parent session will cover application and tuition assistance information.
VASJ is a provider of the Jon Peterson Scholarship through the Ohio Department of Education. Students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), 504 Plan, SEGO Plan, Individualized Service Plan (ISP), or an Accommodation Plan are invited to take the Entrance Exam with accommodations on November 10 or December 2.
Please submit your accommodation plan to VASJ at least two weeks prior to the Entrance Exam in order for our administration to review it for testing accommodations. Documents can be scanned and emailed to admissions@vasj.com.
If you have any questions about the exam or admission to VASJ, please contact the Admissions Office by phone at 216-481-8414 ext. 285 or by email at admissions@vasj.com.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR 8TH GRADE AND TRANSFER STUDENT SHADOWS
At VASJ, our tagline is, “where friends become family.” Come feel the family atmosphere for yourself by becoming a Viking for a Day. Shadow students will be placed with a VASJ Student Ambassador for a full day.
Shadow students have the opportunity to attend classes as well as talk to current students about all the various clubs, sports and extracurricular activities that VASJ has to offer. Any eighth-grade student or high school transfer student is welcome to spend a day shadowing. Reminder emails will be sent about the shadow day.
If you can no longer make your scheduled shadow day, please contact the Admissions Office. Due to the high demand for shadow days, students may not reschedule more than three times.

An Open House is an excellent opportunity for students and their families to get to know VASJ. Visitors have a chance to speak with current students, teachers, administrators and coaches about life at VASJ. Families will be led on a tour of the building by one of our Student Ambassadors. Information about our academics, campus ministry, athletics and other programs will be available as well.
Pre-registration IS required. Please plan to arrive within 15 minutes of the start time in order to move through the check-in line. Masks will be required until noted otherwise.
If you have questions, contact the Admissions Department by phone at 216-481-8414 ext. 285 or by email at admissions@vasj.com.
