Fr. Martin Solma SJ '66 installed as the second Marianist Provincial
St. Joseph High School alumnus Fr. Martin Solma '66 has been installed as the second Marianist Provincial since the consolidation of the four regional North American Marianist provinces into the Marianist Province of the United States in 2002. The installation ceremony took place at the "Gather at the River" Marianist convention in Louisville, Kentucky, on July 1. In addition to Marianists from Cleveland, VASJ President Brian R. Menard was in attendance at the ceremony to congratulate Fr. Marty and wish him well as he takes the helm of the Marianist community that stretches from Hawaii to Puerto Rico and includes 18 high schools (including Villa Angela-St. Joe's) and three universities.

"It is no small deal to have one of our own alumns heading one of VASJ's two sponsoring orders. I am hopeful that Fr. Marty will join us in Cleveland at his alma mater sometime soon so our students and all our community can appreciate directly the leadership he will be providing."

In addition to talking with Fr. Marty, Menard met with a collection of SJHS alumns and former SJHS/VASJ faculty long enough for some quick photos.
